Excellent and thorough review. I’ve been looking for something like this for my mom this Christmas as she currently pays $100/mo for cable when she only watches a small handful of shows. 9 times out of 10 her TV isn’t even turned on. Lots of money gone to waste. With this, I can download all of her desired shows, place them on a USB drive and she can stream them through this player. I was initially going to get her a DiVX enabled DVD player with USB, but this is clearly the better route!

@jaykp0t
the problem with the new apple tv is that it has no hard drive

Cameron, thanks for great demo/review dude. I’m an Aussie in Brazil and I was tossing up whether to get a mate to bring one in from the US for me next week, and your demo clinched it. Very thorough run through, answered everything. thanks again

Saw this review and went and bought one straight away. Just wanted to know if there’s any way I can hook up a keyboard to the WDTV Live? I’ve tried the b-rad firmware but that doesn’t seem to work either…If anyone knows how to do this then please hook me up! Cheers.
