@exconguitar umm no. First off Dave would never mock ANY belief ot religion. Second go check out Spoon or Save me or Christmas Song. He speaks of a real God and Jesus.
He was raised as a believer and along the way he decided to believe in a deity, not necessarily a Christian God.

@an1bal um, i’m pretty sure Save Me is an entire mocking in itself.

@an1bal oh here we go, another stuck-up, pompus ass Dave pseudo-fan. watch the fuckin interview (from your soapbox), he straight says the “christian god” is impossible, mocking it as ridiculous. He mockingly expresses his OWN desire to believe in: “A god that slips etc.”. I’m quite familiar with the songs, maybe you should start doing the same. Maybe you should attend more than just one show a year in Irvine before you pretend to tell me what he thinks.

@an1bal he also quotes a lot of things from the bible like ” water into wine”. The rest of his band are Christians also so he would not be mocking them. He also grew up as a Christian.

Anything negative about God has been brought about by man’s interpretations. Man wants to use God as a tool to exercise his own selfish desires. I’m a Christian, but I’ve seen how men want to use God for financial gain or what have you. When in reality God is all of those beautiful things Dave has described.

Dave is such a normal, fun guy. He has done and seen so much, but still is amazed by nature and childrens excitement. That is indeed, what god is all about, being a true altruistic part of this world brings all living things together.

This is the frst time I’ve heard Dave talk about Everyday and Stand Up, and made me realise that me and Dave thinks the same way about those two great – but different – albums. “Lacks the cemistry of the band…. “

Dave is really quite an amazing person. He’s got so much heart, and is so real – and so generous and humble. And despite all that, he’s a world-class musical talent and leader of what may be the best live band in the world.

The introductions….are always epic. Mazel to you, sir.
And Dave…legendary in my mind. Grew up on DMB and as an adult, my love for the work he always seems to produce…as great as ever.

Excellent interview. I don’t know who this guy is but he’s quite the interviewer. Dave shared many facets of this album and his personal experience. I love that the interview was filmed. We got to see Dave making funny faces and got to witness the emotion he displayed as he talked of Le Roi and the members of the band. The monkey story was an awesome visual. Thanks Qtv. Keep’em coming.

@guitarnlaxdmb I was surprised just how must I relate to. I grew up in a conservative family on a farm, had a bout of very strong religion in my teens which abruptly fell apart. I couldn’t accept that God would send good honest people to hell for lack of belief. That is the Christian God, that is just my frame of reference. I’m agnostic, but I am not a Christian. I would really like to believe there is a great being watching over me, but I can’t. There’s just too much doesn’t add up.

What a great interview! I really appreciated how it was more like a conversation and at some point I was looking for the beer on the table, because it was so open and funny like a bar conversation. Good job!

The total ass of an interviewer just unfortunately loves to hear his OWN voice over anyone he interviews. All his questions are just so totally scripted and not at all interesting… except maybe to himself. He really sucks as an interviewer.
