www.cbc.ca/Q The National were in Studio Q recently to perform a couple of songs and to talk about their critical success with their past two albums ‘Alligator’ and ‘Boxer’. They also performed a new yet to be named song from their much anticipated new album that has yet to be released.

ugh. can’t waittttttt for may.
I only like The National’s sad, calming songs. This is one of my favorite songs. Love. Forever.*______*
I would like to meet the nine thumbs down just to find out why
amazing
the national is the first band where i liked every song in all their albums
wow. it amazes me how much i love every single one of their songs. i agree with a previous post about being able to listen to their albums straight through and being blown away by them all. their writing, rhythm;everything is just fantastic. i can see how they may not be for everyone, but if you really appreciate the story of their songs, you can’t help but love them. can’t wait for the new album. i’ve seen them live twice. i will see them every time they come to raleigh. fan for life.
hey so i only have the album boxer and i like it alot. which one should i buy if i want to continue my the national collection?
I hope their new album is a bit like boxer.
I really hope they have some stuff similar to Daughters of the Soho Riots and About Today. …. Oh, and cant forget “Son”
@soccercrazy309 Alligator. Their most accessible album and still my favourite alongside Boxer. Try ‘Secret Meeting’, ‘All The Wine’ and ‘The Geese Of Beverly Road’.
Is this going to be on high violet? any one know which track this is?
@soccercrazy309 you have to listen to their older stuff too like the songs “Slipping Husband” and “Cold Girl Fever”
I waiting with bated breath for their album to come out too! Hurry!!
@blakcpavement You are so right, the best live concert of my life
@anti18now What about Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers which I think is better than Alligator ?
@cnocnacille76 they’re all good for different reasons. I think Alligator is the most accessible and is the most consistent and succinct. But i suppose it’s personal taste, so @soccercrazy309- get them all!
This is “Runaway”, which is included on High Violet.
@cnocnacille76 I prefer SSfDL to Alligator as well.
@multiplemike01 ha thanks i was impatient, it was fairly clear when i got to the chorus
@melissamaeyong – I have the album, and its really good!!
At last a good “pop” band that writes 5-6 min songs and has John Lennon as drummer.
9 thumbs down? Deafness is a terrible thing.
@anti18now
dude. all of them. it’s life changing stuff, i mean it. Alligator’s a good start though.
This is such a well writen song, and the perforamce is quite amazing really moving.
