Comments on Apple TV (2nd Generation) 2010: Unboxing and Demo
@sab0nes Without jailbreaking, the Apple TV can only playback videos, music, and photos from your iTunes library, so those drives would have to be mounted in iTunes. You can use AirPlay as well to stream video and audio from your iOS device to your Apple TV.
@MultiManny23 You can have it for 30 days, or 24 hours once you start watching the movie.
So if I bought a movie could I download the movie on to apple Tv and take it with me. For example a friends house and plug into his tv and watch there or do i have to be hooked up to the internet and connected to my library?
Do you reckon this is still worth the buy considering the iPad2 will let you stream through that knew cable we can buy? So whatever is on the iPad2′s screen will be streamed onto the tv, or any videos you want playing that are on your iPad will be shown on the tv?
Did you actually rent a movie only for the purpose of this video and getting a simple message that you rented the movie???? LMFAO
@DetroitBORG Do I Have to have the HDMI Cable To Use It?
@Pablo20896 Yes, you need an HDMI cable.
@darkbouchon Sure, that’s what I do
I rent movies all the time on the Apple TV regardless.
@ShibbyMon You can use the AirPlay with the AppleTV which I think is a better option than tethering your iPad to your TV. Mirroring is beneficial for certain tasks, like Keynote or Gaming, in that case you need the VGA or HDMI adapter.
@joecoz26 You are not downloading the movie, you are streaming, so you do need to be connected to the internet.
@DetroitBORG LOL, I hope it was not a randomly chosen movie haha
WOW! Your reviews are so cool … You showed us everything ! AMAZING DUDE ^_^
what the fuck is the point of apple tv?
Why did you get an MDX? Get a Jeep Cherokee. The video was great, I am so buying an Apple TV.
MKX not MDX
READ THIS IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS:
Just buy a VGA cable for under $10! You can connect your laptop to your HDTV and see your computer in HD on your TV.
Herp derp, save your money people!
How can you add movies to your iTunes library that are downloaded from elsewhere?
Quick question: If I was to be downloading a 10GB file on my computer that is connected to the same network and I was watching a film on the AppleTV, would the film be choppy and lag?
@TheBreezycha I love my MKX, LOVE it! The Jeep Grand Cherokee is nice too, just not as nice…and I’m very loyal to Ford/Lincoln vehicles.
@ZeroCandy Import them to iTunes, but your videos will probably have to be converted ot iTunes friendly formats. You can use a number of resources, even apps from the app store like VLC will do that for you.
@XIJackoIX The Apple TV doesn’t exhibit lag because it does a good job downloading and buffering the content. Netflix may downgrade its quality if the situation is really bad, but iTunes doesn’t at all. Playback may stop if the Apple TV suddenly experiences network lag and can’t buffer enough of the movie. .
@mardfet The Apple TV offers far more functionality geared toward a lean-back interface than attaching a computer. I have a Mac mini permanently attached and never use it because there are far more steps to making it work on TV and you still dont’ have easy remote-friendly access to the iTunes store or Netflix, not to menton the enormous benefits of airplay. It’s only $100 for a much more usable setup than plugging in a computer.
@Graphicspittz187 how do u get free tv shows??
@ekmindustries Hulu & Miro
